Looms and Threads used in Gajendragada Sarees
Looms and Threads used in Gajendragada Sarees
Gajendragada sarees are woven using traditional looms and techniques that date back more than seven decades. The weavers use carefully prepared cotton yarns, precise warp setting, and region-specific motifs that reflect the heritage of North Karnataka. Every saree carries the signature balance of bold borders, strong geometry, and deep color tones inspired by the rugged landscape of Gajendragada.
The sarees are primarily woven using cotton yarn counts such as 2/40 for warp and 2/40 or 2/60 for weft, sourced from certified suppliers like NHDC.
